Asteroid 2017 DR34 was discovered today and will pass tomorrow between Earth and the moon.
It is not to be confused with Asteroid 2017 DG16, which was discovered yesterday just before passing between Earth and the moon.
Scientists assure us that there are no other asteroids in the vicinity.
But it can all be very confusing.

It is passing between Earth and the moon as you read this.
But it has been more than three weeks since an asteroid was last discovered as it passed between Earth and the moon.
So we seem safe.
