The Strange Case of the Mispronunciation of Dr. Jekyll
and Mr. Hyde

News Headline: ” ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ a classic tale of horror.”
Is it time for QT’s annual reminder that the first syllable of “Jekyll” rhymes with “bleak”?
And while we’re at it, that there is no “hollow” in “Halloween”?
Evidently.
And Happy Halloween!

The medium is the message

News Headline:
“White House releases official Trump portrait.”
And somehow QT’s entry remains overlooked.
You may recall that QT commissioned a painting of Trump by Tim Hatch, better known as Pricasso, the Australian artist known for painting with his penis.
The painting is displayed again here.
Or as Pricasso wrote to QT after completing the work:
“It was difficult in the hotel room. Now I have to wash the carpet a bit.”
But the White House still hasn’t noticed.
Maybe if Pricasso touched up the president’s face here and there. . . .

Investigators at the -gate

News Headline:
“George Papadopoulos a ‘proactive cooperator’ in Russia investigation.”
When did squealers become proactive cooperators, and when can we have squealers back?
And in the meantime, when can we have more proactive cooperators?

QT Grammar R Us Seminar on the English Language

News Headline: “. . . and a specious restaurant. . . .”
. . . known for its unwarranted entrees.
And is it time for a reminder that the owner of a restaurant isn’t a restauranteur, but a restaurateur?
And that there is no “x” in “espresso”?
And that “crepe” rhymes with “pep”?
And that it isn’t “brussel sprouts,” but “brussels sprouts”?
And. . . .

High crimes and misdemeanors in the news

News Headline:

News Headline: “White House announces Trump trip to Asia.”
Psssst.
Hey, feds.
Don’t you know a flight risk when you see one?

QT Rules of Etiquette for Guys and Dolls

News Headline: “It’s only October and these people already have their Christmas
lights up.”
As today is Emily Post’s 145th birthday, is it a good time for an etiquette reminder that no Christmas decorations should go up until the day after Thanksgiving?
And that all decorations should come down 12 days after Christmas?
Evidently.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

News Headline:
“Why are all the conservative loudmouths Irish-American?”
Sometimes a headline writer just snaps.

In keeping with the season, a few books written by ghosts

4.  The America We Deserve by Donald J. Trump
